David Benavidez Dominates David Morell Jr. in Unanimous Decision Win, Declares 'This is Monster's World' | FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS

David Benavidez proved once again why he’s one of boxing’s most feared names, dominating David Morrell Jr. over 12 punishing rounds in a high-stakes light heavyweight showdown at T-Mobile Arena. In front of a roaring Las Vegas crowd, Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) showcased relentless pressure, championship-level poise, and a highlight-filled performance that left no doubt on the scorecards.

During the ring walks, Benavidez, nicknamed "The Mexican Monster" by Mike Tyson, made his way to the ring with the sounds of Mexican music, wearing red and black camouflage. As he walked, the crowd and betting favorite Benavidez extended his glove to touch the fans, pausing at the steps of the ring before entering to acknowledge the crowd’s applause.

In Round 2, Benavidez, showcasing the high boxing IQ of a fighter with 29 bouts under his belt, delivered a moment that reminded everyone why he's considered one of the most dangerous and skillful boxers at light heavyweight. With surgical precision, he pushed aside Morrell’s high left-arm guard and detonated a flush right hook that echoed through the broadcast feed.

In Round 4, the skillful Cuban Morrell stood his ground. As Benavidez stalked and pressed him against the ropes, Morrell weathered the storm and buckled Benavidez's legs with a short right hook counter, leaving the pro-Benavidez crowd in shock.

Benavidez took control in the middle rounds as the fight progressed, dominating exchanges with outside boxing, relentless inside work, and crisp combinations, forcing Morrell to fight on the back foot. Benavidez's control was punctuated with a lethal left uppercut that landed flush on Morell's face in Round 6.

Benavidez and Morrell embraced briefly after the final bell, capping off an intense fight buildup filled with bad blood. Their rivalry hit a boiling point when Benavidez shoved Morrell during a heated media workout, prompting Morrell to retaliate by hurling his championship belt at him.

When the scorecards were announced, it was a dominant victory for Benavidez, 115-111, 115-111, and 118-108 on the judge's scorecards. With the win, Benavidez retained his WBC interim light heavyweight title and claimed Morrell’s WBA “regular” light heavyweight belt.
